Component change-outs can be done either with all work orders processed on asset or assets raised on the component being swapped out. The choice would be based on how your site wants to see the costs i.e. on the asset or on the actual component being replaced. We will start with processing on the asset
Work order processed can either be an ad-hoc work order or based on a planned work order that has been forecast
Haul truck HT205, will have it's engine and transmission replaced

Serialized components linked to the truck can be accessed via the serial option above which will list the components below

Click on the work order tab to start processing a WO on the asset
Work Order can also be processed via your standard maintain work order screen

Note: PM Task 40000 was created for the engine change-out and the material added to it allowing for efficient processing of the work order. Materials and labour requirements can be captured on the task

Once the work order is created and we review the maintain plant item screen, the work orders tab is highlighted

Accessing the work order tab we can select the Rotable Control
The Asset Rotable Component Control screen below allows to request material(this will be tackled later in the wiki) via the rotable control

We will release the work order and processing the outstanding material, which will automatically create a pick slip

The planner is then prompted to select a serial
