Component change-outs can be done either with all work orders processed on asset or assets raised on the component being swapped out. The choice would be based on how your site wants to see the costs i.e. on the asset or on the actual component being replaced. We will start with processing on the asset

Work order processed can either be an ad-hoc work order or based on a planned work order that has been forecast

Haul truck HT205, will have it's engine and transmission replaced

Serialized components linked to the truck can be accessed via the serial option above which will list the components below

Click on the work order tab to start processing a WO on the asset

Work Order can also be processed via your standard maintain work order screen

Note: PM Task 40000 was created for the engine change-out and the material added to it allowing for efficient processing of the work order. Materials and labour requirements can be captured on the task

Once the work order is created and we review the maintain plant item screen, the work orders tab is highlighted

Accessing the work order tab we can select the Rotable Control

The Asset Rotable Component Control screen below allows to request material(this will be tackled later in the wiki) via the rotable control

We will release the work order and processing the outstanding material, which will automatically create a pick slip

The planner is then prompted to select a serial

A review of the Rotable Control

Shows the installed OEM serial and the new serial that's attached to a pick slip in status of ready for picking

Once the pick slip has been dispatched and updated it will be in the available status in the Rotable Control

The serial is now available and the change-out process can start

Uninstall the currently installed OEM serial HT205-ENG00001 below

Note the serial is uninstalled and a return pick slip generatedand linked to the repair warehouse HR01

The uninstalled serial is now in status Return in Progress

Install the new available serial

New serial installed

Uninstall the transmission HT205-TRAN by processing another work order on the truck

Release the work order, process materials and select the new component

Rotable Control

Once the pick slip is processed and updated, the new component is available for installation

Uninstall the installed OEM,

Return pick slip processed

Install the new component

As you close the work orders, component change information will be viewed

Asset Rotable Component Control allows you to review the serial history

History shows the component off was an OEM component that came prefitted. This was taken off for repair and is awaiting QA assessment in the repair warehouse
